I am fortunate to have two gorgeous cousins who were willing to show off their personal style, have a chat about what inspires them and share a fond memory of their sister.
We chose the Powerhouse in New Farm for two reasons: to make use of some great textures and use the river as a backdrop and because we were all keen to see the World Press Photo exhibition (which I highly recommend, it’s as amazing as it is moving).

Sarah (left) is wearing a French Connection riot stretch jacket, a Ladakh floral top, Bardot jeans and Rubi Shoes boots.
Clare (right) is wearing Wittner leather boots (a gorgeous 30th present from her besties), Jeans West Jeans, Tokito top and a Tempt scarf.

I love this French Connection riot stretch jacket and Ladakh top combo, it’s a great way to make winter florals more edgy.

How would you describe your style?
Sarah: My style is pretty eclectic and changes depending on my mood and the weather. Sometimes I feel like being hippy, beachy, rock, boho or sometimes i love to frock up. I mostly live in jeans for my work though and own at least 4 or 5 pairs at the moment!!
Clare: For work it’s very corporate & I live in Cue, I love that it’s all made in Australia & their clothing just fits me perfectly. When I’m not working I like to keep it quite casual with good quality basics and dress them up with jewellery or scarves. I suppose my style is subtle and classic.
Who is your style icon or someone who inspires you creatively?
Sarah: I don’t think I have a style icon per say but I do get inspired everyday by my creative colleagues and the creative young people I work with.
Clare: My style icons are… everyone! I love people watching, mainly just to see what they’re wearing and I often have to fight the urge to go up to people & ask them where they got their top from. So I think I draw inspiration from everyone: family & friends. I also love following celebrities like Miranda Kerr, Nicole Ritchie and Anne Hathaway.
Favourite memory of something fun you did with your sister?
Sarah: My favourite memory is of Clare and I on a train travelling through Portugal when we were 20, it was a train with open windows and old leather seats, the scenery was gorgeous and I just remember looking at her and thinking: wow this is amazing!!
Clare: Well we’re actually lucky enough to have another sister and I remember when we were younger, in the school holidays, we used to dress up & do ‘photo shoots’ and our hallway became the runway. There would be some very funny photos somewhere of us ‘modelling’!!!
